Good CW-5200 chiller

Purchased a CW-5200 Dual Port Chiller. It arrived well-packaged. Works as expected with my laser. Keeps the temperature stable. No issues.

Reliable for parts

I've bought several items from LightObject over the years, mostly replacement parts like Laser Focus Lenses and Mo Mirrors. This time I needed a new Laser Power Supply. Like always, the ordering process was smooth and the part arrived quickly. Their products are consistently good quality, which is why I keep coming back. It's reassuring to know I can get what I need without any fuss, and that the components will work as advertised. Never had a bad experience with their parts.

Decent price for LightBurn

Needed a LightBurn Software License for my new setup. I checked a few places, and LightObject had a pretty competitive price for it. It's not a huge discount or anything, but every bit helps when you're buying a bunch of new equipment. The license came through email quickly, which was convenient. Felt like a fair deal overall, nothing to complain about.

Solo engraver works great

I got the Solo Desktop Laser Engraver a few weeks ago and it's been pretty fun. Setup was straightforward, which was nice since I'm not super techy. I've been mostly messing around with some wood sheets and acrylic, making little gifts for friends. The results are good, much better than I expected for a desktop machine. Shipping was decent too, arrived two days earlier than the tracking said. Definitely enjoying it.

hey, trying to decide between the Solo Desktop and something like a Glowforge. anyone have experience with both? what's the big difference?

M Mark K. 2 months ago
Totally different league. Solo is more 'prosumer' and open, you get access to more settings, better components usually. Glowforge is super user-friendly, plug-and-play, but you're locked into their ecosystem and it's less powerful.

If you like to tinker and want more control, Solo all the way. Glowforge is great for beginners who just want to hit print and not worry about settings, but it's not as robust for serious work.

Thinking about getting a Falcon CO2 machine, but shipping always kills me. How much is it usually for one of those big boys to, say, Miami?

R Ryan Nguyen 2 months ago
Yeah, shipping big stuff is pricey. I ordered a smaller chiller to Cali and it was like $60-70. For a whole machine, I'd expect it to be a good chunk more, probably freight. Best to ask them directly for a quote based on your zip.

I got a Titan to Texas last year, and it wasn't cheap, like a few hundred bucks. They use freight carriers for the big machines. It's worth it though, beast of a machine.

How long does it typically take for a water chiller, like a CW-5000, to ship out? Need it for a project next month.

J James 1 month ago
Mine shipped pretty fast, I think it was within a few days. They usually have the common chillers in stock. Then it's just transit time depending on where you are.

I got a CW-5200 from them and it shipped out within 2-3 business days. Arrived about a week later to the East Coast. If you need it by next month, you should be fine, just don't wait until the last minute.

What's the return policy like if I get a laser tube and it's not the right fit, or arrives damaged?

M Mia 2 months ago
Their return process seemed pretty straightforward when I looked it up. If it's damaged on arrival, they'll sort you out. For a wrong fit, as long as it's unused and within their return window, you should be good, might just pay return shipping.

I had to return a lens once, super easy. Just make sure you follow their instructions on the website about getting an RMA. They're pretty fair about it.

Does LightObject ever do Black Friday sales? Holding out for a deal on a new laser tube.

N Nina T. 2 months ago
Oh yeah, they definitely do! Black Friday and Cyber Monday are usually when they have their biggest sales. I snagged a chiller for a good price last year during that time. Keep an eye on your email if you sign up for their newsletter.

They totally have Black Friday sales. I remember seeing some machine bundles discounted then. For just a tube, maybe a smaller percentage off, but still a deal.
